The office is commonly a room or additional area in which people do work, but could also denote a position within an organisation with particular duties attached to it  the latter is in fact an earlier usage, office is place originally referring to the position of one’s duty. While applied  as an adjective, the term office may refer to business-related tasks. In legal writing, a company or organization has offices in anywhere that it’s an  official presence, even if that presence consists of, e.g., a storage silo instead of an office.

The office is an architectural and invention phenomenon and a social phenomenon, whether it’s a tiny office such as a bench in the corner of a "mamma and Pop  store" of highly small size through entire floors of constructions up to and including heavy constructions dedicated entirely to  one company. In modern terms an office usually comes to to the location where professional workers are employed.

Feng shui problem with my office desk?
My new office desk is directly facing the door, which i believe is not good, however i cant change the setting. What can i put on my desk to block the bad ‘chi’?

*THE LOGIC OF WHY IT IS BAD*
Having an office desk facing the door directly is bad because there will be too much chi going in one direction and heading straight at you. This type of chi is actually called shar chi. Basically, chi flowing too much in one straight direction is bad.

You’ll notice a lot of walkways and paths in traditional chinese houses are curved and never in a straight direction (to prevent the chi from flowing too quickly).

*THE SOLUTION TO IT*
You need to make sure the chi doesn’t ‘hit’ you straight on and is allowed to disperse gracefully. To do this, you can place plants, a large round stone sphere, or auspicious Feng Shui items. Doing this will slow down the flow of chi and allow it to spread in the area with positive qualities. The simplest is to use plants.

Many friends and customers have trouble visualizing the logic so here is usually what i tell them. Imagine chi as air/wind. If there’s a light breeze (allowed to roam around) it’s great! If it’s too strong (think super concentrated force of air), it’s bad. So if you have something to interrupt the super fast flow of air (like an air freshener), the wind disperses and roams the area with a nice scent. Your plant or auspicious feng shui item will be the proverbial air freshener :).

Office desk setup?
Do you keep your phone on the right or left side of your desk? Is it on the right side of your computer, or the left? (if you were sitting at the desk, not in front of it)
If you have an adding machine (big calculator), which side is it on?
Also, if you have a printer, does it sit on your desk, a table, or on the floor?
Just out of curiosity, I rearranged my desk this morning.
Thought it would be fun to find out how everyone else keeps thier office/cubicles flowing!

I don’t work at an office since I’m still a student, but I can tell you how my desk is set up at home! (Thought I would be nicer than that person before me)

-Phone, right side of desk because I’m a righty. You?
-Right of my computer for the same reason as above. You?
-Big calculator, left because the right is full. You?
-Printer has it’s own table because at the moment I have a very small desk. I’m getting a bigger one soon and I can’t wait! Where is your printer?

Hope you get answers from people who have ‘real’ desk!!
