Is it “modern?” (Like 1970s or later) or old (pre-1970s). Late 20th century dinnerware shoudl have “dishwasher safe” imprinted on it; I wouldn’t put anything older than that in the dishwasher because a) the stuff you use in dishwashers is very abrasive and the older glazes won’t stand up to it; and 2) it may be too delicate to withstand the water pressure, swirling, etc.

Find a pretty china hutch to display your treasure and invest in a set of modern really tough stuff that you can use and enjoy every day. Save the bone china to use as a candy dish, center piece, display a bowl of fruit …

Hi i have a bone china cup ,i need to replace the complete set but i have had no luck finding the cup online.?
the cup is white about 7cm tall 8 cm wide at top of cup.around the top half of the cup it has a large purple and gray leaf with a black stem and 3 black leafs..on the bottom of the cup it says bone china (in black letters) then a woman with a large hat (also in black) then the word gainsborough (in pink letters) then C 07 4 (in black letters) then made in england (also in black letters)…….i have had no luck finding the same design on line so if anyone can help i would love to here from you. as i need to find a replacement set as soon as i can…thanks. ps i will also ask a qestion about another china item ineed to replace thanks.
